FULL STACK DEVELOPER

A website should clearly convey an offering, whether products, skills, ideas, or knowledge. It should also do so with efficiency and simplicity, all while engaging the visitor. Too many sites fail at this, and I have a passion to change that!

My formal education is in engineering. After a long career in the medical device industry, I gave that up to pursue something that allowed me to be more creative.

As a Full Stack Web Developer, I am fluent with developing the interfaces necessary to consume information, but also familiar with the behind-the-scenes processes that manage requests for information and how the user interface is stored and managed on a server.

I currently own my own web design and development company, nāscәnt-designs, and also participate in web projects with other organizations that I believe can enhance my abilities and provide them with a useful skillset.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

ACADEMY SCHOOL DISTRICT 20, Colorado Springs, CO October 2018 to Present

Academy School District 20 has an ambitious goal to "lead the nation in web". Many school districts think of their website as just a way to get basic information on their schools or policies. D20 wants to make this an interactive digital experience.

I am a Full Stack Developer participating in the re-envisioning and deployment of this new site along with almost 40 individual school websites. Using a headless CMS along with Vue.js, the new website will feature content specifically tailored to the visitor, quickly guiding them to the content they seek. Components are designed with an atomic strategy meaning that a variety of elements can be designed once and reused throughout the site.

The primary district website was launched in the summer of 2019 and has continued to evolve with both new features and content.

I am the owner/operator of a local web design and development firm. Over the course of three years, I have built and maintained over twelve websites in a variety of industries including aerospace, education, finance, and arts industries.

I have completed several commercial websites using WordPress and Squarespace. Two of these included online store capability. The subject matter is varied, and each had unique requirements and starting points. Project management and proper definition of user requirements were crucial in meeting the end customer goals.

My business and personal websites are examples of my custom site building skills. Both are built on a small PHP-based CMS and makes use of a majority of the skills listed above.

My previous career was in the medical device field. Over the course of 26 years, I held a variety of roles, culminating in my final role as the Senior Director of Manufacturing Engineering and Supply Chain.

In my formative years as both Laser and Systems Engineer, I was responsible for the development of the UI and operating system for the CVX-300 Excimer Laser System. The maintenance of this software required:
