Motorcycles.

1992 Suzuki Katana 600. This was my first ride. My brother John was flabbergasted that I started out on a sportbike. He hadn't been riding much in the previous ten years, but within two months of my getting the Katana, he had a new machine and we were riding together.
1994 Suzuki RF600. This bike had some pretty dramatic shapes for a machine of this era. It had a fairly aggressive riding position and a much more refined engine than my Katana.
1995 Suzuki RF900. This was my first foray into 'liter class' sportbikes. With 900cc's worth of engine, this was far more powerful than my two previous 600's. This was the bike that my brother an I did our first 4500-mile trip on.
1999 Honda VFR800. Not quite as powerful as the RF900, but the VFR has long been known to be one of the best 'all-rounders' on the planet. I agree. This bike has a V-four engine which sounds amazing. It also has a single sided swing-arm, which looks super bad-ass.
2002 Honda CBR1100XX. In my opinion, one of the best sportbikes ever built. Unbelievable power. The world goes by pretty fast at 162mph. I took many trips on this bike. Super comfortable.
2006 Honda VFR800. After a riding hiatus of a few years, I began riding again on another VFR. Certainly not as powerful as the CBR, but if there were ever a bike with ESP, this one was it. It seemed to always know precisely where I wanted to go, and was mechanically superb.
2012 Honda VFR1200. My current ride. Still a VFR. Still top notch. Just with a bigger engine. It competes very nicely with my former CBR1100 for power. It's the most technologically advanced ride I've ever had, with ABS and traction control. And a super bad-ass single sided swing-arm.
