Engineering and Operations Leader

My previous career was in the medical device field. I have a Mechanical Engineering degree, and was hired by the Spectranetics Corporation back in 1990 as a Mechanical Designer. Over the course of 26 years, I held a variety of roles, culminating in my final role as the Senior Director of Manufacturing Engineering and Supply Chain.

Interestingly, during the first half of my career as the company's laser engineer, I had my first experience coding for the CVX-300 Excimer Laser System. I taught myself enough 80x86 assembly language to enable me to make changes, compile, and debug the laser's operating system which was loaded onto an Intel A8797BH micro-controller. As I moved into leadership roles, I turned my focus toward building effective teams and eventually led approximately 60 technical professionals.
